Yes, I know the title is cheesy but all the ice is getting to me and it made me remember the days of jamming to Vanilla Ice. Ah, those were the days.!
God has blessed our family with all of our power on, no big branches down and fun family time together. The ice storm has allowed us to spend more time doing things that we get to busy to do like: making applesauce ornaments for our tree, cuddling on the couch and watching movies together, drinking hot coco and coffee, making rice crispies(our kids had never made these before), making and eating Santa pancakes together, and the best of all worshipping Him as a family through Bible study. As I sit here I witnessed a rather large branch fall and barely miss our neighbors house, what a blessing that it didn't hit their house! It is almost like our Lord put a big umbrella over our house protecting it from this storm, I am so thankful He is a God that loves and protects us. So we are very thankful today and we will keep praying that He protects others and provides peace during trying times. If you think about it even though it causes destruction the ice is really beautiful, maybe we should try to see some good in this storm, it has given us so many opportunities to grow closer as a family.

Yes, we are blessed. We have TONS of downed tree limbs from our trees and our neighbors trees, but we are warm and safe and that is what is important.
So did you guys freeze to death?
